MREIA is New Jersey's oldest and largest not-for-profit real estate investors group. Our mission is to aid, train, motivate and to share information relating to real estate investing. We are dedicated to helping both beginning AND experienced investors. We serve the New Jersey-New York metropolitan area.
A BRIEF HISTORY OF MREIA
Old newsletters of
MREIA have been traced back to 1985, when the organization was known as the
Northern New Jersey Real Estate Investors Club, Inc. (N.N.J.R.E.I.C., Inc.)
Meetings were held at the Coachman Inn, Cranford NJ. The organization began in
1982 and no records could be found as to whether things were formally organized
or merely a group of investors getting together. However, in 1985, membership
increased from twenty to over five hundred!
In September, 1985, the “New Jersey Real Estate Informer” was born. Prior
to said date, a double-sided monthly letter was apparently written by Gary
Knight, who also served as President in 1985.
The first President was John Brinkman, from 1982-1984.
In addition to general meetings, workshops were offered
monthly by local experts on specific topics to small groups of members.

the newsletter was also changed from the New
Jersey Real Estate Informer to the New
Jersey Investors’ Informer. |
MEETINGS & EVENTSOur General Meetings are held on the third Monday of every month at the Hilton Woodbridge, Woodbridge, New Jersey, off Exit 131A of the Garden State Parkway. At 6:30 pm we offer pre-meeting discussion groups for beginning and seasoned investors. At 7:15 pm time is allotted for announcements, members with deals and other real estate related matters. The General Meeting begins at 7:30 pm with the featured speaker(s) introduced.
MEMBERSHIP INFONon-members (“guests”) pay a $20 fee, which is applied to the annual membership fee of $125 (if paid by the end of the Meeting). Membership includes free admittance to all General Meetings, twelve issues of our newsletter (The Metro), and discounts to special events, seminars and workshops. Also available are significant discounts on appliances purchased at P.C. Richard & Son. Our mission is to educate, provide forums for networking and to suggest ways of achieving financial success and independence.
