SEPTEMBER MAIN MEETING HIGHLIGHT:
 LEGAL EAGLE NIGHT - "Ask the Lawyer" Panel of Expert Real Estate Attorneys

A full house and a lively Q & A with our knowledgeable panel of distinguished Attorneys (Felicia Ekejiuba, Harry Frieland & Michael Mirne) made MREIA’s Legal Eagle Night” a rousing success.

Questions from the audience touched on Landlord/Tenant issues and law, real estate contract law, using land trusts and other real estate law and legislation.

Harry Frieland gave an update on the “Corporate Transparency Act”, what members need to do to comply.

Other topics included an update from former MREIA VP Anthony Uva on the “Community Wealth Preservation Act” and the consequences that this poorly written bill has had on the Sheriff Sales and actually hurt the very people it was supposed to help.

When the bill was signed by Governor Murphy in January you may recall we told members what a fiasco it would create, and yes, we were correct!

The forecast was for rain but the Gods were smiling down on MREIA. The Day turned out beautiful and dry (during the picnic, that is!).

We want to thank all the MREIA members who came and shared in our annual picnic at Thompson Park in Lincroft.

There was a Bluegrass / Old Tyme Music Festival at the park. Unfortunately it was on the other side so we could not hear the bands but all in all, a great day.

I want to give a special thanks to Irina, Andrea, "Chef Anthony", Dave F, Ralph, Kimberly and Baronda for helping make the day a success.
